St. Peter’s by the Sea Presbyterian Church Youth Event
Event Location: Rancho Palos Verdes, California
The high school students at St. Peter’s by the Sea Presbyterian Church gathered and created period packs for women who are being bussed to California from Texas seeking asylum. They made about 125 packs filled with personal hygiene products to promote a sense of dignity and worth in this difficult transition for women. We also had a gathering to discuss immigration, how God sees immigration, migrants, and justice, and our call to show up for those who have little voice as part of the reformed tradition. It was a powerful conversation and learning especially during the Advent season thinking of Christ as a refugee. Thank you for the funds and the powerful learning opportunity. The period packs were distributed by our local presbytery and some packs were taken by they young women in our youth group to distribute as they see the need in their lives.
