Why did all the Hebrew prophets use poetry to speak God’s word? Because they were slam poets of their times. This workshop will look at how spoken word (poems meant for speech) breaks conventional speech, and thereby challenge the “authorized” way of talking. Then we will write our own spoken word and put together a Slam Poetry event in the workshop. No prior experience of writing or performing poems required.
